 Our local Northwest Ohio businesses employ us, our children and our friends and neighbors. Their charitable givings and taxes support our community and our area government. Our communities depend on their continued existence and success for the betterment of our communities as a consequence of the local economic multiplier (Money that is returned back into the local communities) which is a basic building block of every community. Every dollar spent with a local area business creates that multiplier effect in the local area economy. By most findings, that amount (dollars) is equal to three times that of a national or out of town business. A study on the economic impact of the local dollars spent concluded that only .13 cents of every dollar spent at a national or out of town business remained in the community, while .45 cents of every dollar spent at a local area business remained here at home.
